1987
- Full ownership of Yuhan Chemical Co., Ltd., was secured from Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST)
- Yuhan increased investments in specialty chemical production
1985
- Yuhan became the first approved manufacturer under Korea Good Manufacturing Practice (KGMP) certification guidelines.
1984
- Completed construction of the Yuhan Research Institute(YRI) building in Gun-po, Gyeonggi-do
1983
- Founded Janssen Korea, a joint venture with Janssen Pharmaceutical Company of Belgium
- Received the Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit medal from the Korean Government for contributions to the development of Korean industry and the national economy
1982
- Established three global joint-venture companies: Yuhan-SmithKline, Yuhan-SP (Schering-Plough), and Yuhan-Cyanamid
1980
- Founded Yuhan Chemical Co., Ltd., a joint venture with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST)
1979
- Construction completed at Yuhan’s new Anyang plant, a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility
1977
- Established Yuhan-Clorox Co., Ltd., a joint venture with United States’ Clorox Company
1973
- Successful synthesis of Rifampicin represented a breakthrough in the treatment of tuberculosis in Korea.
1970
- Established Yuhan-Kimberly, a joint venture with United States personal care products company Kimberly-Clark
- Established the “Korean Social and Educational Assistance Trust Fund,” now known as the Yuhan Foundation
