- Full ownership of Yuhan Chemical Co., Ltd., was secured from Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST)
- Yuhan increased investments in specialty chemical production

- Yuhan became the first approved manufacturer under Korea Good Manufacturing Practice (KGMP) certification guidelines.

- Completed construction of the Yuhan Research Institute(YRI) building in Gun-po, Gyeonggi-do

- Founded Janssen Korea, a joint venture with Janssen Pharmaceutical Company of Belgium
- Received the Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit medal from the Korean Government for contributions to the development of Korean industry and the national economy
